Positioned above the Passat and the Magotan, the Phideon is the first Volkswagen to be based on VW’s new Modular Longitudinal Matrix (MLB) platform. The Phideon measures 197 inches long and 73.6 inches wide. Under the hood, the large sedan will initially be offered with a 3.0L V6 with 295 horsepower and 347 lb-ft. of torque that sends its power to the ground via 4Motion all-wheel drive. VW also plans to offer a 2.0L turbocharged version with front-wheel drive and a plug-in hybrid version is also in the works.

The Phideon will go on sale in China in the third quarter of this year, bit if you’re hoping that the large sedan will come to the United States, you’re out of luck. VW has no plans to offer the Phideon in the U.S.
