First it was the Geneva Motor Show, then the New York Auto Show and now we have another even that’s being postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the latest victim and is now being pushed back from its original July 9 date to “late summer, early autumn.”

“Following advice received from the UK Government, we have decided to postpone the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard to later this year. We want to be sure of choosing the best possible date, this will require some careful consideration and as soon as we have that we will let you know. Most likely it will happen in late summer, early autumn and your tickets and hospitality bookings remain valid for the new date.”

While we’re disappointed that the even is being pushed back, we’re more disappointed because the next-generation Volkswagen Golf R was pegged to debut at the event.
