Ford has officially announced today that they are selling the British company, Aston Martin to an investment group led by Prodrive founder David Richards.
The deal will close during the 2nd quarter of this year for $925 million. Ford is planning on retaining a small stake in the company for $77 million, which means that Ford will actually only receive $848 million for the company.
The new owners are: David Richards, founder and chairman of Prodrive; John Siners, an Aston Martin collector and backer of Aston Martin Racing; and Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Co, which is headquartered in Kuwait.
Hopefully this will help Ford a little bit this year…
