The Civic Type R starts with the new five-door hatchback, but adds a much more aggressive body kit with bigger fenders and air intakes and an aggressive rear wing. There’s also a unique diffuser and a nice center mounted exhaust system. Under the hood we can expect a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder, but Honda hasn’t revealed any official specs. We should see an improvement over the current Civic Type R’s 306-hp and 295 lb-ft. of torque, since it now needs to rival the Ford Focus RS.
A six-speed manual will be standard and that 300+ horsepower will only hit the ground via the front wheels. Stay tuned…
