Toyota has officially confirmed the iQ minicar for the US, which will be sold under the Scion brand in 2011.

Toyota claims that the 2011 Scion iQ meets the needs of a new trendsetting generation of urban drivers. It features a 3+1 seating design making it the world’s smallest four passenger vehicle. It’s overall length is only 120.1 inches and it has a width of 66.1 inches, which should make parking it in tight parking spaces very easy.

The iQ is powered by a 1.3L four-cyl with 90 horsepower that is mated to a CVT. The iQ will also come standard with 10 SRS airbags, including the world’s first rear-window curtain airbag and a Scion-first driver seat-cushion airbag.

The iQ is already on sale in Europe and Japan, but the release date for the US has not been released.
