Last year Mini unveiled the Rocketman Concept at the Geneva Motor Show. Since then there have been lots of rumors that BMW was planning on adding the small concept to Mini’s lineup, but now Car is reporting that BMW has changed its mind.
According to Car, BMW has canned the Mini Rocketman due to the added cost of producing the tiny Mini. BMW would have to invest a considerable amount in order to make the Rocketman meet current regulations, like crash standards. The extra costs to needed produce the Rocketman, would not make it very profitable.
It was rumored that the Rocketman was going to enter production around 2016.
