Mercedes-AMG is bringing the Project One to the Frankfurt Motor Show this month. With this latest teaser, Mercedes-AMG has confirmed that the Mercedes-AMG Project One hybrid two‑seater will have over 1,000 horsepower and a top speed over 217 mph.

The Mercedes-AMG hypercar can seat two passengers and is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged engine from the brand’s Formula 1 hybrid car. Obviously a 1.6L engine can’t generate 1,000 horsepower on its own, so the Project One also has four electric motors on tap. Mercedes-AMG hasn’t released the specifics, but according to AMG head, Tobias Moers there will be “one for each front wheel, one on the crankshaft, and one in the engine turbocharger.”

In addition to generating over 1,000 horsepower, the powertrain has the ability to rev up to a nice 11,000 rpm. The Project One car that we’re going to see this month, won’t be the production version. Instead it will be a near production prototype.
