Mercedes recently unveiled the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Performance, which is an electrified version of the four-door GT, but it’s electric range is pretty short. For buyers that want more, Mercedes has unveiled the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53, which amps up the performance of the electric sedan.

The EQS 53 has two electric motors, which generate a combined 649 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. If you press the Race Start button, the power is temporarily boosted to 751 horsepower and 742 pound-feet of torque. The EQS 53 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.

To make it even more capable, the EQS 53 also gets several AMG changes, like its different motor mounts, rear subframe and control arms. It also comes standard with rear-wheel steering and the air suspension is similar to the system used by the AMG GT models.

To bring it to a stop, there are six-piston front brake calipers and single-piston rear calipers. Carbon ceramic rotors are optional.

On the outside the AMG EQS 53 looks slightly more aggressive than the standard EQS with its larger front air intakes, a larger rear spoiler and diffuser fins.
