Mercedes-AMG has unveiled two new AMG GLC Coupe models, both featuring an innovative turbocharger system.

Buyers will have the choice between two different models, the most powerful being the GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE Coupe, the brand’s first performance hybrid SUV coupe featuring 671 hp, and the less powerful GLC 43 Coupe featuring a still very respectable 416 hp. Both versions will feature a hand-built AMG 2.0-liter four-cylinder with the world’s first and only series-production electric exhaust gas turbocharger. This turbocharger will offer practically spontaneous response across the speed range, increasing both efficiency and dynamics.

Standard equipment across both models includes all-wheel drive, rear-axle steering, AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission, AMG RIDE CONTROL adaptive suspension system, three-stage AMG speed-sensitive steering, and an upgraded AMG sports brake system. GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE models will also feature the AMG high-performance composite brake system with 6-piston fixed front calipers as standard.

Exterior features include an AMG-unique grille, front fascia, AMG side sills, and flush-fitting wheels in 19-, 20- or 21-inch sizes. Mercedes-AMG GLC 43s will receive an AMG-specific rear diffuser with round twin tailpipe trims. The more powerful Mercedes-AMG 63 S E PERFORMANCE gets an additional rear diffuser board and trapezoidal twin tailpipe trims.

Inside, both models will get AMG seats in MB-Tex and microfiber with unique graphics and the option to upgrade to both leather or Nappa leather with embossed AMG crests on the front headrests. AMG GLC 43s receive an AMG Performance flat-bottomed steering wheel in Nappa leather, while the AMG GLC S E PERFORMANCE’s steering wheel features both Nappa leather and microfiber. Additional upgrades include AMG sports pedals, floor mats, illuminated door sills, and AMG-specific displays and functions for the MBUX infotainment system.

Pricing and availability information will be available at a future date.
