We’ve heard plenty of reports and rumors about Mazda’s future models, including a new rear-wheel drive platform with an inline-six engine. There have been rumors that the Mazda6 will switch to the new RWD platform and now a new report claims that the new Mazda6 will debut in the first half of 2022.

Mazda Vision Coupe Concept

Spyder7 is reporting that the RWD Mazda6 will debut soon and that it will take inspiration from the Vision Coupe concept that debuted in 2017. It will get a few styling changes, like a new grille design.

Under the hood the next-generation Mazda6 will not only get a new inline-six, but it will also get plug-in hybrid and all-electric versions.

Mazda has not confirmed the rumors and we’ll also have to wait and see if the new Mazda6 comes to the US, since it recently announced the sedan is dead here.
