The revamped 2021 Lexus IS is slated to arrive in showrooms in October and now Lexus has announced the pricing. The 2021 IS starts at $40,025, including the destination charge, which means the new IS is now $440 more expensive than last year’s model.

It’s worth noting here that the 2021 Lexus IS is not all-new, since it still rides on the same platform, with the same engines and an interior that hasn’t really changed much. On the outside every body panel has been redesigned and the new IS is now longer and wider than before. Under the skin the 2021 IS also gets a revised suspension with new A-arms and swing-valve shock absorbers.

Inside there’s a new infotainment system, with the standard version using an 8-inch screen, but a 10.3-inch screen is optional. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have been added. The only big styling changes inside are new round air vents and the center console has been redesigned.

On the safety front, the 2021 arrives with the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 safety suite, which includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and bicyclist detection, emergency steering assist, lane departure alert and automatic high beams.
