Kia is about to get in the sports sedan segment with a new rear-wheel drive sedan that is expected to launch some time next year. Sources have revealed to Reuters that Kia hopes to start producing the new sedan, codenamed CK, in May 2017.
Instead of rivaling the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedans, the Kia rear-wheel drive sedan will reportedly be more coupe-like and go head-to-head with the BMW 4 Series and Audi A5 Sportback. It will also offer a range of 2.0-, 2.2-, and 3.0-liter engines. Not much else is known at this point, but the rear-wheel drive coupe is part of Kia’s effort to a build a sporty, younger image.
