We’re still waiting to see what Jaguar has planned for the future of the F-Type, but in the meantime it’s unveiled a sexy race car, the Vision Gran Turismo. Before you get in the car and race down to your Jaguar dealer, you’ll want to know that the Vision Gran Turismo is strictly a virtual race car for the racing game Gran Turismo Sport.
Jaguar says that the Vision Gran Turismo takes inspiration from the C-Type and D-Type models from the past, but it also looks to the future with its fully electric powertrain. The Vision Gran Turismo is powered by three electric motors that generate a combined 1,005 horsepower and 885 lb-ft. of torque. That’s enough power to give the sleek two door a 0-62 mph time of less than two seconds and a top speed over 200 mph.
Unlike traditional electric cars, the Vision Gran Turismo will sound like a normal sports car, since Jaguar used recordings of the D-Type Long Nose racer to give the electric racer a unique soundtrack.
The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo will be able to download in Gran Turismo Sport for the Sony PlayStation 4 from the end of November.
