Infiniti is planning on expanding its lineup, but a large flagship sedan is not in the works. Infiniti is instead looking at the idea of a four-door coupe flagship that will be like the Porsche Panamera. According to Andy Palmer, Nissan’s executive vice president responsible for global future products, Infiniti has no plans for a Mercedes S-Class competitor, but instead wants something different.
The four-door coupe could take styling cues from the Infiniti Essence concept that debuted in 2009. If the four-door coupe gets the green light, it won’t arrive before 2017.
