The 2021 Honda Civic Type R is now available, but if you want a more exclusive version, you better act fast. Honda has introduced the Civic Type R Limited Edition, which is priced at $4,950, including the destination fees. Only 600 Type R Limited Edition models will be available.
The Civic Type R Limited Edition comes exclusively in Phoenix Yellow with a gloss black roof, mirror caps and intake vent on the hood. The Limited Edition also weighs 46 pounds less than the standard Type R thanks to lightweight BBS forged-aluminum alloy wheels, lighter front brake rotors and less sound deadening materials in the roof, hatch and front fenders. The cargo cover, rear heater ducts and rear wiper have also been removed to save weight. The Type R Limited Edition also gets Michelin Cup 2 tires.
Both the Civic Type R and Type R Limited Edition are powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 306 horsepower and 295 pound feet of torque that’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The standard 2021 Civic Type R starts at $38,450.
