Following the initial unveiling at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011, Honda’s UK division has announced plans to produce the CR-Z Mugen RR, which is now being referred to as the CR-Z iCF.

The CR-Z iCF is powered by a modified version of the CR-Z’s 1.5L hybrid setup. The CRZ-iCF gets a supercharger, new induction system and Mugen ECU. Thanks to these upgrades the CR-Z iCF has almost 50 percent more power than the standard CR-Z at 173 horsepower. Honda claims that it will reach 0-62 mph in 6.1 seconds, which is three seconds faster than the standard CR-Z.

Martin Moll, Head of Honda (UK) marketing said, “MUGEN Euro magic has created a super responsive yet eco-conscious model building on our sporting credentials and giving us the ability to compete in the “hot hatch” marketplace as we move into 2012.”

The CR-Z iCF will be available in the UK in the spring with pricing starting at £24,000. Sadly Honda has no plans to offer this hotter CR-Z in any other markets.
