Stopping to get gas will now be a little easier if you drive a Buick, Cadillac, Chevy or GMC vehicle, since GM has announced that it has teamed up with Shell to let drivers use Shell Pay & Save within the GM Marketplace system. The new integration means that drivers can simply pay for their gas using their vehicles’ infotainment screen rather than having to use a credit card.
To use the system, drivers simply press a few selections on the vehicle’s touchscreen and a three-digit code will be generated that allows the user to activate a specific pump and start fuelling their vehicle. Buick recently announced a similar integration with ExxonMobil.
“Fuelling is obviously an essential part of the vehicle ownership experience and we’re excited to offer our drivers a new way to fuel up with convenience, security and speed,” said Rick Ruskin, Marketplace Line of Business leader, GM. “Through Marketplace, we’ve been able to harness the power of the connected vehicle to change the way people think about everyday tasks like filling up.”
