Genesis has officially unveiled the Magma GT concept, a dramatic mid-engine sports car that sets the stage for the brand’s next decade of performance vehicles. Revealed during the Genesis Magma World Premiere, the concept isn’t just another design exercise — it’s a clear signal that Genesis is preparing to lean hard into motorsport and high-performance engineering.

The Magma GT concept builds on the roadmap outlined during Hyundai Motor Company’s CEO Investor Day back in September, where Genesis confirmed plans to turn the car into a true halo model while exploring a possible entry into GT-class racing.
According to Luc Donckerwolke, President and Chief Creative Officer of Genesis, the Magma GT represents the “pinnacle” of the brand’s performance vision. Rather than chasing raw, aggressive speed, Donckerwolke says the car was shaped around balance and connection, delivering performance that feels natural and instinctive rather than intimidating. “This isn’t simply a faster Genesis,” he said. “It’s the most complete expression of Genesis performance to date.”

As the first pure sports car concept from Genesis, the Magma GT marks a major step toward positioning the brand as a player in the luxury performance world. Genesis describes its approach as “Effortless Performance,” putting composure and confidence ahead of dramatic theatrics.
The Magma GT concept serves as a blueprint for its upcoming high-performance push. It defines the design language, engineering philosophy, and motorsport ambitions that will underpin the brand’s future halo car and growing Magma performance sub-brand.
