Ford has officially confirmed that after 17 years the Mustang Mach 1 is coming back with the arrival of the 2021 Mustang Mach 1.

Ford has released a few teasers of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1, which it says will be the “most track-ready 5.0-liter Mustang ever.”

“Mach 1 has a special place in Mustang history, and it’s time for this special edition to claim the top spot in our 5.0-liter V8 performance lineup and reward our most hardcore Mustang enthusiasts who demand that next level of power, precision and collectability,” said Dave Pericak, director, Ford Icons.

The teaser photos of the 2021 Mustang Mach 1 reveal that it will have a slightly different face compared to the other Mustang models with a unique grille with two large, circular openings. The lower front fascia has also been updated with larger openings.

Inside we can see Sparco racing seats and a roll cage, but we’ll have to see if they show up on the production version. Brembo brakes have also been added and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

At the rear there’s a new spoiler and large exhaust outlets.

We know that the Mach 1 will be powered by the 5.0-liter V8, but we’ll have to wait and see if it packs more power than the 480 horsepower in the Bullitt.
