Ford is reportedly working on new hybrid versions of its SUV lineup, which will see an Escape Plug-in Hybrid join the lineup in 2019, alongside new hybrid versions of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator.
The hybrid version of the Escape will look to beat the hybrid versions of the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Rogue with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The hybrid versions of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator won’t get a plug, but will offer a mild hybrid powertrain according to sources that spoke to Automotive News.
Ford is expected to add several new electrified models to its lineup by the end of the decade, which includes hybrid versions of the Ford F-150 and Ford Mustang. A long range electric SUV is expected in the next few years with a driving range around 300 miles.
