The Ferrari 488 Pista Spider is powered by a twin turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 with 710 horsepower and 568 lb-ft. of torque. The V8 is the most powerful Ferrari V8 engine ever built and was recently named Best Engine in the world for the third consecutive year at the 2018 International Engine of the Year Awards. The good thing is that the since the 488 Pista Spider’s top comes off you not only get more sunlight, but you get to hear the sounds from the V8.

The 488 Pista Spider’s unique folding roof obviously adds extra weight compared to the 488 Pista, but lightweight carbon-fiber has been used throughout the interior to cut a few pounds. Even the carpets have been replaced by patterned aluminum foot plates and the driver’s-side door handle has been replaced by a simple strap to make the 488 Pista Spider a little lighter.

Optional one-piece carbon fiber wheels offer a 20 percent weight reduction over the standard 20-inch alloy wheels.

Ferrari has not announced the pricing for the Ferrari 488 Pista Spider, but will obviously be more expensive than the 488 Pista coupe.
