The Ferrari Portofino debuted three years ago at the 20217 Frankfurt Motor Show and now it’s time for some updates. Ferrari has unveiled the 2021 Ferrari Portofino M, which now has more power, a new gearbox and some added driver-assistance tech features.

The Portofino M is powered by the same 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8, but thanks to revised camshaft profiles and a particulate filter that was added to the exhaust system, there’s a bit more power. The engine now generates 612 horsepower, which is an increase of 20 hp. The peak torque rating remains the same at 560 pound-feet.

The V8 is now mated to a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which replaces the previous seven-speed gearbox.

Ferrari says that the new exhaust system has better sound quality and reduced back pressure.

There’s also a new Race setting in the drive-mode selector. To keep you safe, there’s a full suite of driver assistance technologies, which includes a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency breaking, lane-departure warning and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.

There are a few small styling tweaks, to improve its aerodynamics. The front fascia has been slightly updated and the slits in the front fenders now extend more forward. At the rear, the diffuser has been redesigned.
