Last Friday Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter to answer many questions about the Model X crossover. One of the questions centered around the upcoming Model 3 and if it would too have the same Falcon wing doors as the Model X. “Not gonna lie, I’d sell my soul to @elonmusk for one. Please tell me the Model III crossover will have these doors!”, stated AwesomelyOZ. Musk’s response, “there will be a Model 3 and a Model Y. One of the two will.”
Unfortunately the tweet was taken down shortly after it was posted. We do know that Tesla is working on a smaller crossover that will be based on the upcoming Model 3, so it’s likely that the Model Y will be the name of the new crossover.

He also deleted another Tweet that was in response to a question about a future Model X with a less expensive battery. Musk stated, “something like a 70, but probably around 12 months from now.” This means that a less expensive Model X is in the cards, but it won’t arrive for about a year.
