This September Chrysler is finally going to release the SRT version of the Dodge Caliber. The Caliber SRT-4 will feature a turbocharged version of Chrysler’s 2.4L world engine. It will put out 280hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.
The car will put the power to the ground via the front wheels and will feature a six-speed manual transmission.
Dodge is trying to keep the starting price under $20,000 for the new car. If they can keep the price low it would be a good alternative to the Mazdaspeed 3 and VW GTI. But if Dodge doesn’t do something about the poor interior quality, many buyers may still go for the VW and Mazda.
