Detroit Electric has announced that it is working on expanding its lineup in the next three years, which will include a new sports car, sedan and SUV. UK-based Detroit Electric has also presented the first outline sketches of its future models during the company’s debut at Cenex’s LCV2017.

Chief Technical Officer and Company Director Richie Frost, says: “We have been working for a long time to put our company into a position where we’re ready to embark on this exciting journey. And we wanted to share our excitement with the visitors to the LCV event by releasing these sketches. The are an unequivocal signal of our intent.”

Thanks to a $1.8 billion dollar investment from China’s Far East Smarter Energy Group, Detroit Electric is already hard at work on the three new models. To bring the three new models to market, Detroit Electric will invest significantly to expand its engineering and manufacturing center in Leamington Spa to create new R&D facility, alongside its China facilities.

Detroit Electric hasn’t announced the performance specs for the new models, but the company is targeting driving ranges between 300-500 miles on the European cycle.
