Chevy has unveiled the 2018 Chevy Traverse RS, which adds a sportier touch to the Traverse, although it may not add as much “sport” as you truely want. The 2018 Traverse RS features blacked out trim pieces, unique 20-inch wheels and a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The Traverse RS is powered by the Ecotec 2.0L turbocharged engine that generates 257 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. That’s less horsepower than the 310 horsepower 3.6L V6, but it does beat it in the torque department, since the V6 only has 266 lb-ft.

According to Chevy, ninety percent of the four-cylinder’s peak torque is available at only 2,100 rpm. The four-cylinder is rated at 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. It’s worth noting that if you need all-wheel drive, cross the Traverse RS off your list, since only the V6 powered Traverse models are available with all-wheel drive.

On the outside, the Traverse RS stands out with a black grille, black window trim, black roof rails and black bowtie emblems, along with 20-inch aluminum wheels featuring a Dark Android finish. Inside the 2018 Traverse RS features OnStar 4G LTE and available built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, Jet Black leather seats, heated front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control and a Bose premium 10-speaker audio system.

The 2018 Chevy Traverse RS is already on sale, starting at $43,095.
