The success of the Cadillac CTS-V means that Cadillac is going to produce a high-performance version of the upcoming ATS, obviously dubbed the ATS-V. While the thought of the supercharged V8 from the CTS-V being wedged under the hood of the smaller ATS sounds awesome, the ATS-V will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6.

The CTS-V goes head to head with models like the BMW M5, but the ATS-V will be targeted towards smaller models like the M3. The next-generation M3 is expected to ditch its current V8 for a twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder. Because of this, the ATS-V will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 with around 380 horsepower. The engine will be mated to six-speed automatic and manual transmissions.
