Bugatti has unveiled a new Sky View roof option for the Chiron, which gives the driver and passenger a clear view of the sky through two fixed glass panels.

The Chiron’s new Sky View option consists of two glass panels in the roof, which each measure 25-inches long and 17-inches wide. The glass panels consist of a new laminated structure with thin glass and four intermediate layers. Each of the layers has an individual purpose.

One layer’s job is to reduce wind noise, while the second reflects away infrared radiation. The third layer is tinted to protect the occupants’ privacy and the last layer filters out harmful ultraviolet (UVA and UVB) radiation. Bugatti also says that the laminated design also improves the stiffness of the roof panels. The Chiron Sky View roof also provides an extra inch of headroom.
