BMW is already on its way towards its goal of electrifying its lineup with the introduction of several plug-in hybrid models, in addition to the i3 and i8. Now BMW has announced that it plans to introduce 25 electric models by 2023, two years earlier than originally planned.

We will offer 25 electrified vehicles already in 2023 – two years earlier than originally planned. We expect to see a steep growth curve towards 2025: Sales of our electrified vehicles should increase by an average of 30 percent every year,” stated Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG.

BMW’s next electric model will be the iX3, which is expected to arrive in 2020. It’s not yet known what all of the electrified models will be, but BMW is expected to introduce plug-in hybrid versions of the 3 Series, 7 Series, X3 and X5.

Next month MINI will also reveal the fully electric Cooper SE as well.
