BMW hasn’t even unveiled the M8, but a new report claims that the hotter M8 Competition is going to arrive in 2019. Last week BMW held a VIP event in Paris where it previewed some of its upcoming models. While pictures were not allowed, one of the attendees has revealed some of the info from the event.

2019 BMW 8 Series Coupe

BMW Blog has received confirmation that BMW is planning an M8 Competition. The Competition version will feature several upgrades over the regular M8, like a carbon fiber aero kit and ceramic brakes. Under the hood, the M8 Competition will be powered by the same 4.4L V8 as the M8, but it will get a few upgrades as well to give it around 620 horsepower.

For now we only know that the BMW M8 will debut at some point in 2019, which will be followed by the M8 Competition. In the meantime, the 8 Series coupe is only offered with a 523-hp version of the 4.4L V8, under the hood of the M850i xDrive. We’re also still waiting for BMW to reveal the 8 Series convertible and 4-door Gran Coupe.
