BMW is going to take the wraps off the 2018 BMW M5 next week, according to the latest teaser on Facebook. The highly anticipated 2018 M5 is going to debut on August 21 ahead of its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

Even though BMW hasn’t revealed the new M5 yet, we already know a lot about it. First the 2018 M5 will be powered by an updated version of the twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8, which will generate 600 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. The V8 will only be available with an eight-speed automatic transmission, but the bigger news is its new M XDrive all-wheel drive system. In standard mode, all four wheels will power the 2018 M5, but the driver has the ability to switch on the M Dynamic setting to only send power to the rear wheels.

The 2018 M5 will reportedly reach 62 mph in under 3.5 seconds.

Carbon-ceramic brakes and a carbon fiber roof are also part of the mix. We’ll have all the details next week.
