Yesterday we posted a photo of a camouflaged 2018 Jeep Wrangler, but now that’s old news, since we have our first leaked photo of a completely uncovered 2018 Wrangler. This photo was posted to the Jeep forum on Reddit and was obviously taken by FCA employee, since it’s taken from its Toledo, Ohio plant.
The single leaked photo provides an early look at the new Jeep Wrangler JL, which is longer than the outgoing Wrangler JK generation. Even though the new Wrangler will be bigger, its weight shouldn’t take a penalty, since the 2018 Wrangler will have an aluminum hood and doors. Under the skin, the 2018 Wrangler will keep its steel frame and solid axles.
The 2018 Wrangler will be available with three engine options, a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder, 3.6L V6 and a 3.0L diesel V6. A plug-in hybrid is expected to debut later.
