The next-generation BMW 7 Series is coming soon and when it arrives it will come with a new electric version called the i7. BMW has now given us our first look at the i7 with the first batch of teaser photos of a camouflaged i7 prototype testing in Arjeplog, Sweden.
The i7 will be based on BMW’s CLAR platform, just like the new 7 Series. It will share its electric motors and eDrive battery tech with the iX SUV, which means it will likely have a range around 300 miles and over 500 horsepower. BMW will also likely release offer a more powerful version and a base version with just one electric motor.
On the outside the i7 will stand out from the new 7 Series with flush door handles and blocked-off kidney grilles.
The BMW i7 is scheduled to debut in 2022.
