Bentley has confirmed that it’s working on a range topping Speed version of the Bentayga SUV. We don’t know when it will arrive, but Bentley design boss Stefan Sielaff has confirmed the Bentayga Speed and that its design will be a “big change” compared to the standard version.

2018 Bentley Bentayga

Sielaff recently revealed the details to Autocar, where he also said to expect the “typical” design changes that other Speed versions get. The Bentley Bentayga Speed will also get a more powerful version of the 6.0L W12 engine.

The Bentley Bentayga with the W12 engine can already reach 0 to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 187 mph thanks to the 600 horsepower and 664 lb-ft. on tap. It will be interesting to see how close the Bentayga Speed’s performance gets to the Lamborghini Urus, since it only has 50 more horsepower and reaches 62 mph in 3.6 seconds. But even if the Bentayga Speed’s straight line performance gets close to the Urus, the Urus will likely outpace it on the road.
