The 2018 Geneva Motor Show officially kicks off tomorrow, but there’s still chances that some of the official info is going to leak out early. Here’s a new one, Bentley is going to unveil a new plug-in hybrid version of the Bentayga at the show, but we have the leaked info about the Bentayga PHEV now. The leaked info comes to us from Autocar.
The Bentley Bentayga plug-in hybrid will borrow its electrified powertrain from the Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid, which means that it will be motivated by a 3.0L turbocharged V6 and an electric motor to give it a combined output of around 450 horsepower. The powertrain will also be able to power the Bentayga for up to 31 miles in electric mode.
It will take up to 7.5 hours to recharge the Bentayga plug-in hybrid using a standard outlet, but a quick-charger can bring that time down to 2.5 hours. The Bentayga plug-in hybrid will also offer three E modes: EV Drive, Hybrid and Hold.
If you’re hoping for a fully electric Bentayga, you’ll have to wait until at least 2020. We’ll have more details about the Bentayga plug-in hybrid soon.
