Audi has jumped on the subscription service bandwagon with the launch of Audi Select in Texas. The Audi Select subscription service has launched as a pilot in Texas, which gives users access to the A4 sedan, A5 convertible, S5 coupe or Q5 or Q7 crossover for $1,395 per month.

The Audi Select subscription service is a little different than similar programs from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, since subscribers can swap vehicles up to twice a month, but they can also only keep a specific vehicle up to six months.

To make it easier to swap out the vehicles, Audi has tapped its Silvercar rental service. The Audi Select subscription service includes 24 days of Audi rentals a year through Silvercar in 24 U.S. markets including Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Denver.

Currently the subscription service is available through five dealerships in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Audi hasn’t announced which cities will get the Audi Select subscription service after the pilot in Texas is complete. “We do want to do this in other markets, but we need to learn what we need to learn before we move to other markets,” stated Audi of America CFO Matt Carpenter.
