Audi to Invest $30.3 Billion to Grab Top Luxury Automaker Spot

It’s being reported that Audi is going to invest $30.3 billion between now and 2018 as it attempts to take the top spot in the luxury segment with the introduction of new models.

It’s being reported that Audi is going to invest $30.3 billion between now and 2018 as it attempts to take the top spot in the luxury segment with the introduction of new models. Audi has a goal of selling 2 million vehicles annually and it hopes to reach that goal by investing heavily in the introduction of new models and technology.
“We are now decisively steering toward our next milestone,” Audi CEO Rupert Stadler stated. “This is why we’re keeping our foot on the gas pedal regarding investments.”

Audi hopes to take the to lead BMW and Mercedes by the end of the decade, but BMW and Mercedes are also planning a host of new models to challenge Audi. BMW is planning on introducing 25 models between now and 2014 and Mercedes is planning 13 all-new models by the end of the decade.
