It’s being reported that Audi has pushed back the release of the next-generation Audi A4 and Q7. The new A4 is now being delayed until the summer of 2015, while a release date for the next Q7 hasn’t been confirmed. Both models are being delayed to make last minute styling changes.
It looks like Audi’s new head of R&D Ulrick Hackenberg is not happy with the direction of the next A4 and Q7 model and has ordered some last minute changes. The new A4 was supposed to launch later this year, but now Audi is going to need extra time to update the styling and tweak its suspension. A plug-in hybrid option is also reportedly in the works and should launch at the same time as the regular A4 is ready.

This is the second reported delay for the next Q7, with Audi’s execs still being unhappy with the styling direction of the SUV. The designers are reportedly trying to take some of the aggressiveness out of the final design, which according to insiders “catered mainly to Russian tastes.”
