Hot on the heels of Tesla’s less expensive Model 3 and Model Y variants comes the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt, the return of a perennial EV favorite featuring numerous updates and an impressively low price.

One of the headlining features of the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is a starting price under $30k. It will be available in base LT trim for $28,995 and an upscale RS trim with an MSRP around $32k, both including destination fees.
Both versions will feature a new 65 kWh LFP battery pack capable of an estimated 255 miles of range (up from 247 in the previous version), and because of the new LFP chemistry, owners will be able to charge to 100% every night without fear of reduced capacity over time. Fast charging rates have seen a dramatic improvement from previous versions, with a charging rate of up to 150kW, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 26 minutes.
The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will use the same X76 electric drive unit found in numerous other GM EVs, producing a respectable 210 hp. The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will also be the first Chevrolet-branded vehicle to feature a NACS charging port, allowing it to natively connect to a number of charging stations nationwide, including Tesla Superchargers for convenient fast charging. A CCS adaptor will also be available for those who wish to charge with that legacy charging standard.
Finally, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will feature vehicle-to-home (V2H) bidirectional capability, which, when paired with a GM Energy Home System, will enable it to provide power to your home in the event of a power outage. Impressive stuff for an EV starting below $30k.

From the outside, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is a light update to the Chevrolet Bolt EUV that was discontinued last year. The front receives new headlights with a more linear lighting treatment and a new front bumper that brings its look more in line with those of other contemporary Chevy EVs like the Equionx and Blazer.
While the profile remains virtually the same, the rear sees redesigned, more angular taillights and a lightly revamped bumper design. Base LT models ride on silver-painted 17-inch alloys while the more expensive RS trims roll on glossy black-painted 17-inch rims.

Inside, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt features a few more notable changes over the previous version than the exterior does. This includes a redesigned dashboard featuring a large 11.3-inch center infotainment display and an 11-inch digital driver display, along with enhanced storage in the form of multiple nooks and crannies for storing devices and other peripherals. New user-adjustable ambient lighting can also be found scattered around the cabin.
Elsewhere, updated physical controls (including buttons and knobs) for climate and seat heating/ventilation can be found below the central touchscreen display. Available options include a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, and wireless phone chargers located directly beneath the center console for easy access by both the driver and front passenger.

The 2027 Bolt’s infotainment system features native Google integration, including Google Maps with DC fast charging information/route planning, as well as hands-free “Hey Google” functionality for tasks such as turning on seat heaters, navigation, and activating smart home automations.
When the vehicle is in park, customers can enjoy a variety of streaming services on the central display, including HBO Max, Tubi, Prime Video, and more, while they charge.

Available Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance has been updated to allow the vehicle to change into the correct lane for freeway off-ramps and interchanges, much like Tesla’s Navigate on Autopilot feature.
Chevrolet says the 2027 Bolt will be available in the first quarter of 2026 and will be assembled domestically at their Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City, Kansas.
