According to two unnamed sources, GM has officially decided to sell a diesel version of the Chevy Cruze in the US. The Associated Press is reporting that the sources claim that the diesel-powered Cruze will get around 50 miles per gallon and will be here in about two years.

GM already has a diesel version of the Cruze in Australia that is being re-engineered to meet US emissions standards. The Holden Cruze is powered by a 147-hp 2.0L diesel.
