Subaru is charging full speed into the electric future with the debut of the 2026 Subaru Uncharted EV, which just made its global premiere in New York City. This marks Subaru’s first fully electric compact crossover, which if you take a second look at it, you’ll notice that it is very closely related to the 2026 Toyota C-HR. The Subaru Uncharted has standard all-wheel drive on most trims, a range of over 300 miles, and up to 338 horsepower.

The 2026 Uncharted is shorter than the Solterra by nearly 7 inches, yet manages to offer a more usable cargo area with over 25 cubic feet of space behind the second row.
Dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions deliver a potent 338 hp and a 0-60 time under 5 seconds. The Uncharted Sport and GT trims come equipped with Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD system and X-MODE. Power comes from a 74.7-kWh battery pack, which supports DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes and an estimated 290-mile range in AWD form. The FWD-only Uncharted Premium trim has less power at 221 hp, but a range over 300 miles.

Inside, the Uncharted packs a clean, functional layout highlighted by a massive 14-inch touchscreen that runs wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dual wireless chargers up front and USB-C ports in the rear keep devices juiced, while all models get an All-Weather Package with heated seats, mirrors, and a wiper de-icer.

Subaru is also embracing the NACS standard, meaning you’ll have access to more than 15,000 Tesla Superchargers across the country. An onboard pre-conditioning system helps the Uncharted maintain fast-charging capability even in freezing temps, and an 11-kW onboard charger ensures easy at-home charging.

The 2026 Subaru Uncharted will arrive in early 2026.
