Porsche is preparing to take EV charging convenience to the next level with the upcoming Cayenne Electric. Set to debut at the end of 2025, the new all-electric SUV will be the brand’s first model available with optional inductive charging.

The system, shown at the 2025 IAA Mobility show in Munich, allows owners to recharge their EV without plugging in. Instead, the Cayenne Electric can be parked over a floor plate that transfers energy wirelessly. The 11 kW Porsche Wireless Charging setup requires no wall box or external control unit—everything is integrated into the plate itself.
To begin charging, the Cayenne automatically lowers its ride height and aligns with the plate. Energy is then transferred across a gap of about four to six inches. For safety, the system includes motion and object detection, shutting down charging if interference is detected.

Owners will also be able to monitor charging through the My Porsche app, while the SUV’s Surround View system helps drivers park precisely over the plate. Once aligned and the parking brake is engaged, charging begins automatically. Familiar functions like scheduled charging and cabin preconditioning are also built in.
Porsche Wireless Charging will launch in Europe in 2026 before rolling out to other markets. The Cayenne Electric will be the first Porsche to feature the technology, marking a step forward in making EV ownership as simple and seamless as possible.
