Nissan is expanding its electrified lineup with the debut of the 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-in Hybrid, the brand’s first PHEV for the U.S. market. The new model brings electric driving to everyday errands with an estimated 38 miles of EV range, while a hybrid powertrain pushes total range to an EPA-estimated 420 miles. The Rogue Plug-in Hybrid will make its first public appearance at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show, this week.

The Roque Plug-In Hybrid, might look a bit familiar since it looks nearly identical to the Mitsubishi Outlander, with the biggest updates being a new grille and updated taillights.

The Rogue Plug-in Hybrid will be offered in SL and Platinum trims when it arrives at dealerships in early 2026.

The 2026 Rogue Plug-in Hybrid has the same powertrain as the Mitsubishi, which pairs two electric motors with a 20-kWh lithium-ion battery and a 2.4-liter gasoline engine. Total output comes in at 248 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, giving it quicker acceleration than the standard Rogue. All-wheel drive is standard.

The 20-kWh battery can fully recharge in about 7.5 hours on a Level 2 home charger. The closest competitor, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid has better specs than the Rogue PHEV, with its 50 miles of range and it can be charged from 10-80 percent using a DC Fast Charger, in only 30 minutes. The Rogue PHEV cannot be charged using a DC Fast Charger.

There are also two levels of regenerative braking enabled by moving the shifter from D to B, or enabling the e-Step one-pedal driving function.

Fuel economy comes in at 64 MPGe and 26 mpg combined in hybrid mode.
