McLaren has revealed the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider, adding a droptop to the Artura line of supercars from the famed British marque.

Stylistically, the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider is very close to the Artura coupe, with the addition of a power-operated hardtop that can retract in just 11 seconds. Buyers can choose between a standard carbon-fiber composite panel for the roof or an optional electrochromic glass with the ability to block 99% of sunlight with just a tap of a button. Due to the addition of buttresses along the side to support the new roof structure, the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider features curved polycarbonate panels to improve rear visibility.

This power-retractable roof adds 136 pounds to the weight of the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider over the coupe version, bringing it to 3212 pounds. However, despite losing its roof, McLaren says the Spider is just as rigid as the coupe thanks to its carbon-fiber construction.

Of course, any McLaren is expected to deliver exceptional performance, and the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider is no exception. The 2025 McLaren Artura Spider keeps the 3.0-liter hybrid V6 powertrain of the coupe, though adding 19 hp now delivering 690 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. This upgrade in power will also find its way to the 2025 McLaren Astura coupe as well. Interestingly, owners of older Arturas will be able to visit their dealers to receive a free update, giving them the additional 19 hp as well. Other updates include a retuned transmission that features improved shift speeds and a new “Spinning Wheel Pull-Away” mode that allows drivers to dramatically launch their new Arturas with a factory-sanctioned peel-out, certainly the first of its kind.

Inside, the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider retains the same cabin design as the coupe version, with its driver-focused setup featuring a large central touchscreen.

Newly standard equipment includes lane departure warning with road sign recognition, new rear speakers for the Bower & Wilkins audio system, and new silver 15-spoke wheels.

Additional mechanical updates include improved powertrain mounts, a recalibrated ABS system for shorter stops, and new valving work to give the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider’s powertrain a better sound.

Pricing for the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider is set to begin at $281,009, while the coupe version will start at $256,308.

Customers can order the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider and couple now, with deliveries set to begin in mid-2024.
