Lexus is adding a special version of the Lexus IS 500 to its lineup for the 2025 model year, called the IS 500 Ultimate Edition. Lexus says that the special edition IS 500 is “an ode to this storied nameplate’s history and legacy” and it’s also “a celebration of one of the last remaining naturally aspirated luxury V8s on the market.”
The IS 500 Ultimate Edition gets red Brembo calipers, matte black 19-inch BBS alloy wheels. It is also painted in a new metallic gray paint called Wind.
Inside the cabin features a red and black color theme with an LFA-inspired steering wheel. The 8-inch display in front of the driver also features a unique start-up animation.
Under the hood, there’s the much loved 5.0-liter V8 engine with 472 hp and 395-lb.-ft. of torque, that’s mated to an eight-speed S automatic transmission.
Lexus plans to only sell 500 units of the 2025 IS 500 Ultimate Edition and it’s slated to arrive this fall. Lexus hasn’t made any announcements, but this might signal the end of the IS 500 or maybe even the end of the full IS lineup.
