We’ve been waiting to hear more details about the 2024 Toyota Tacoma and now it looks like we’re getting closer to the debut of the new midsize truck. Toyota posted a dark teaser of what appears to be the next-generation Tacoma on Instagram.

The post doesn’t actually confirm that it’s the new Tacoma and instead only states “Lost in the stars…. #LetsGoPlaces.” But we can see that the dark outline of the truck in this photo does not match the Tundra. It also looks more like the leaked patent photos of the 2024 Tacoma that surfaced earlier this year.

It’s been quite a while since we’ve gotten an all-new Tacoma. The 2024 Tacoma will ride on a modified version of the TNGA-F platform that underpins the Tundra. Under the hood the base engine is expected to be the same turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder that has started to arrive in other Toyota models. A fully electric version will arrive later.
