There’s no 2024 Subaru WRX STI for 2024, but there will be a 2024 Subaru WRK TR, short for Tuner Ready, which makes its global debut Saturday at Subiefest Florida. The annual gathering of Subaru loyalists takes place Saturday at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

But unlike its predecessor, last seen in 2006, the 2024 WRX TR is no stripper. Its ready to run, thanks to high-performance Brembo brakes, a revised suspension, and new wheels shod with Bridgestone Potenza 245/35 R19 S007 tires. Specifically, the WRX TR gets red 6-piston front calipers and red 2-piston rear calipers, larger pads and rotors and a larger brake master cylinder. It’s also fitted with stiffer springs, revised damping rates and a retuned steering rack for better body control and steering response.

As you might expect, it comes standard with Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive and a 2.4-liter turbocharged Subaru horizontally-opposed engine rated at 271 horsepower and with 258 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Active torque vectoring is standard. And EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is offered for the first time with a manual transmission WRX. It brings some useful tech, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking System, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and Lead Vehicle Start Alert.

Speaking of tech, the 2024 WRX TR comes with an 11.6-inch multimedia infotainment touchscreen with HD Radio, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, audio streaming connectivity, and satellite radio.

Climb inside and you’ll find Recaro seats trimmed in in black and gray Ultrasuede with contrasting red stitching and the “Recaro” logo. What you won’t find a power moonroof. It’s been deleted to save weight.

Look for it to arrive in dealerships during the first quarter of 2024, with pricing to be announced at a later date.
