We already saw the 2020 Kia Telluride debut last fall, but now Kia has released more details about its new eight-passenger flagship SUV today at the Detroit Auto Show.
The 2020 Kia Telluride is not only the biggest SUV in Kia’s lineup, but it’s also the most adventure-ready as well. The Telluride has room for u to eight passengers and on the outside its big, boxy exterior contrasts with the sea of softly styled, car-like crossovers.
Under the hood the 2020 Telluride is powered by a 3.8L V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque, that’s mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The available all-wheel drive system can send specific amounts of power to the rear wheels depending on which drive mode you’re in. Sport mode automatically sends 35 percent of the power to the rear, while Lock mode sends 50 percent.
The Telluride will be available with a long list of tech features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, a 630-watt Harman/Kardon audio system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the safety front, the Telluride gets the “Kia Drive Wise” safety suite that includes forward collision warning, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, a blind spot monitor and adaptive cruise control.
The 2020 Kia Telluride will be available in LX, EX, S and SX trim levels.
