BMW has released a few more details about the 2020 BMW 330e plug-in hybrid, which is slated to arrive in showrooms next summer. In addition to the extra electric driving range, the new 330e also gets a cool XtraBoost feature that temporarily adds an extra 41 horsepower when you need it.

The 2020 BMW 330e is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that’s mated to an electric motor and lithium-ion battery. The hybrid powertrain generates a combined 252 horsepower and can reach 62 mph in 6.0 seconds. The good news is that the 330e can also drive up to 37 miles in electric mode.

The new XtraBoost feature is activated using the Sport mode. The XtraBoost temporarily provides up to 41 hp, thanks to the extra energy stored in the lithium-ion battery.
