Europe is getting a refreshed Toyota Land Cruiser for the 2018 model year. The 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser that debuted today in Frankfurt is not the same model that’s sold here in the United States, but if you’re in Europe the iconic Land Cruiser is getting a list of updates.

On the outside the 2018 Land Cruiser gets an updated front fascia with a new grille, hood, headlights and bumper. Of course all the updates may appear more stylish than before, but every update is also functional. For example the updated hood has been shaped to improve downward visibility and the center of the bumper is shaped like a skid plate. The grille’s apertures have been made as large as possible for optimum engine cooling, while the headlamp main beams are positioned inboard to avoid damage when driving off-road.

The rear gets smaller updates, with new LED taillights and a restyled bumper.

Inside 2018 Land Cruiser’s interior features a revised dashboard that incorporates new instrument binnacle and center console designs. The controls for drivetrain, driving and comfort have been separated in function-specific zones, with ergonomics optimized so that they are easy to use in even in extreme conditions.

The top of the new center console is now lower for a sleeker appearance and better front-on visibility when driving off-road. There’s also a new eight-inch, full-color multimedia screen.

The 2018 Land Cruiser is available with either a 2.8-liter D-4D turbodiesel engine with 175 horsepower or a 2.7L gas engine with 159 horsepower.
